WRITING RETREATS

Black women and femmes’ wisdom is sacred. Our writing retreats create space to honor it, protect it, and bring it to the page

Our Retreats Support:

Faculty seeking better team flow and writing accountability

Graduate trainees who need guidance, clarity, and encouragement

Our Writing Retreats Offerings

We partner with faculty leaders and research labs to build writing retreats that center people and productivity. We offer two distinct writing retreat experiences designed to support deep, focused creative work in community.

Writing Retreats

BFP Writing Retreats

BFP Writing Retreats are fully curated and hosted by our team. These immersive, in-person experiences take place at thoughtfully selected locations, both domestic and international.

Details, including dates, locations, registration fees, and what to expect, are shared first with our newsletter community. Each retreat is announced in advance, and all participation information is provided at the time of release.

BFP-Facilitated Writing Retreats

We also offer facilitation for writing retreats hosted by organizations, collectives, or private groups. In this option, BFP serves as the facilitator rather than the retreat creator.

All facilitated writing retreats are:

  • In-person only

  • Offered in 2-, 3-, or 5-day formats

  • Hosted in your city or a location of your choosing, domestic or international.

To inquire about a BFP-facilitated writing retreat, please complete the inquiry form. A member of our team will follow up with additional details, including availability and pricing.

Writing Retreats

We handle the structure, flow, and facilitation, so your team can focus on the work, not the logistics.

Every retreat is built with Black feminist values at its core: presence, clarity, intention, and care.

First, forget inspiration. Habit is more dependable. Habit will sustain you whether you're inspired or not. Habit will help you finish and polish your stories. Inspiration won't. Habit is persistence in practice.
